Projects

The term project in photography, is for me a way to collect many photo sessions, trips and even ideas into something more managable. I want to make it easier for my viewers to find my most interesting photos, in addition to the most recent ones the way they are organized in my photoblog.

This page is the entry page for my finished projects, as well as projects in progress and perhaps even projects still on an idea level.

Another project that is the result of an online photography challenge: Choose a set of limitations and/or rules and produce a photo each day in October following those limitations/rules.

The rules/limitations I set for me was to shoot a series of portraits of the people I meet every day, using the same camera lens and same lens aperture (Canon EF 85mm f/1.2, wide open)

Being in nature, in the deep forests gives me extra peace and and a bit of distance to the normal buzz of life. Out here I can concentrate, listen to birds and the occasional moose, open up and dive deep into creativity.

This project is similar to the Misty Landscapes project, but the photos in here are clearer and more detailed than the mysterious misty landscapes.

The Day 2009.02.22

This projects was a result of a lack of photography on my part for a while. I made the (small) commitment of documenting as much of my family life as possible for one day. The fascinating part for me would be to see if I could observe something ordinary for a time, but make out of the ordinary photographs of it.

October 2008

This series got started when I joined an informal challenge posted on a photography forum online. The rule was that one should post one photograph for every day (or so) in october, that was shot with the same lens. I chose to use one of my my Tilt&Shift lenses from Canon, the 90mm TS-E f/2.8 and to photograph everything on top of a black moleskine notebook. Also the subjects had to be things I found near the shore of the Oslo fjord.

— This series won 1st. prize in Black & White Photography Magazine, May 2009.

Misty Landscapes

Mist or fog ads a mysterious quality to almost everything. For one thing, the sounds of birds and animals disappear and the tranquility is immense. Its a great feeling to be out in nature when the fog is thick. My senses change their focus, and I see the world differently.
