In June 2010 I attended a wonderful one week workshop lead by photography guru and connoisseur of everything Italian (especially food and wine) Jeff Curto
I arrived Saturday at noon in Rome, and checked in at the Albergo Cesari. A nice little hotel, close to everything, with good service and a really nice roof restaurant.

After checking in I spent the rest of the day wandering around in Rome. I chose not to bring a map, just to test my directional skills. I got a little lost in the evening though. But the old part of Rome is not that big, so 15-20 minutes after declaring myself lost, I was back at a spot I recognized and found my way back to my hotel.

Just a couple of minutes away from my hotel The Pantheon is located. The beautiful facade was undergoing repairs and was half covered, so I did not get to shoot it the way I had planned. This is the dome from inside.

On my map-less evening stroll, where my target was The Vatican, I walked into a small street containing a chain of special craftsmanship stores.
